Govt Pre-University College – High School section, Mulki
Established in 1934, the school has completed a glorious 90 years of nation-building. Shri A.B. Shetty, Shri M.R. Poonja, Shri V.S. Kudva, Dr. M. Rayappa Kamath, Dr. M. Shyam Shetty, Dr. Ramanna Shetty, Shri B. Boja Rao, Shri U. Krishna Ray Shenoy, and many other eminent leaders of the Mulki locality worked hard to establish this school. The district board of South Canara decided to start a Board High School in Mulki in 1926 but failed due to various reasons. Later, on May 30, 1934, the district board granted permission to start the school, and hence, it opened on June 30, 1934, under the name “Mulki Board High School.”
The school began with 80 students from surrounding areas and reached greater heights. It was one of the five government high schools in Mangalore Taluk during those days. The Government High School celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1960, its Golden Jubilee in 1984, and its Platinum Jubilee in 2010.
Over the past 90 years, the school has produced outstanding talents celebrated across the globe. It has given many industrialists, bankers, doctors, politicians, educators, soldiers, engineers, sports personnel, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, and more.
